CILTHK 55th Anniversary｜Executive Luncheon Series Session 01: The Mission and Role of Hong Kong Customs in Trade Facilitation Louise HO Pui-shan｜Commissioner of Customs and Excise｜HKSAR Government
The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Hong Kong (CILTHK), founded in 1968, is celebrating its 55th Anniversary this year. To commemorate this momentous occasion, we have organised a 55th Anniversary Luncheon Series which serves to provide a platform for nurturing close and long-standing relationships between the government and the transport and logistics industry. It aims to drive the industry to stay competitive in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area, and, by extension, in the rest of the world.
This Luncheon Series will consist of 3-4 luncheons to be held from March onwards in 2023. Key government officials will be invited to share with members and guests the latest updates on a diverse range of important policies and developments in the transport and logistics industry and Hong Kong. We believe that it will be an unmatched opportunity to share and exchange ideas between our guest speakers and the local transport and logistics professionals. ______________________________________________________________________________________
Hong Kong Customs is entrusted with the dual roles of law enforcement and trade facilitation. It is commited to advancing the strategy of "economic development promoters", to echo the national development strategies, such as the "14th Five-Year Plan", the "Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area" and the Belt and Road Initiative.
Ms Louise Ho, Commissioner of Customs and Excise, will share with us how Hong Kong Customs applies advanced technology and port infrastructure to help Hong Kong strengthen its intermodal transport, leverage its advantages in handling high-value goods, and consolidate Hong Kong's leading position as a regional logistics hub in the Greater Bay Area and facilitates local logistics industry to promote the development of high-end and high value-added logistics services through various trade facilitation programmes.
