CILTHK Luncheon Seminar ｜ Supply Chain Management - Logistics Resilience Mr. Eric WONG | Director and CEO | Marina Container Lines (HK) Ltd.
Mr. Eric Wong is a veteran of the HK transport and logistics industry with over 40 years of knowledge and experience in liner shipping and logistics.
Prior to the appointment of Director and CEO at his present company in 2009, Mr. Wong was a senior manager of Maersk Line, North Asia from 2006 to 2008, general manager of P&O Nedlloyd Ltd. (formerly P&OCL) in Hong Kong from 1994-2005, and the line manager of the shipping Principals under Swire Shipping (Agencies) Ltd. which he joined as a Management Trainee in 1979.
Mr. Wong is a Chartered Fellow of CILTHK and a regular contributor to the Position Papers of the Institute to the HKSARG on issues pertinent to the wellbeing of HK’s logistics industry. Moreover, he often participates at industry forums to share his knowledge and experience with logistics practitioners.
Mr. Wong is currently a board member of the Logistics and Supply Chain MultiTech R&D Center (LSCM), a former member of the HK Trade Development Council Logistics Service Advisory Committee, the former Chairman of the HK Sea Transport and Logistics Association, and a former Member of the Transport and Logistics Training Board of VTC. ________________________________________________________________________________________
Disruption to Supply Chains is inherent in the system, but the incidence triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 followed by the Russo-Ukrainian War in 2022 has been as devastating as it is unprecedented. And the resulting operational challenges to transport and logistics practitioners have been massive and lasting. The situation is relentlessly exacerbated by the ongoing Climate Change. How have the stakeholders been responding to the challenges? Who have been the winners and losers? How sustainable are the resilient scenarios going forward? These are the questions to be addressed at the luncheon seminar with Mr. Eric Wong as speaker.
