Members & friends are sincerely invited to furnish your valuable view and comment on the Potential Use of Land Available in Northern New Territories and Tuen Mun West for Logistics Development through a survey conducted by the Logistics Policy Committee of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Hong Kong (CILTHK).

The shortage of land for use of logistics industry has long been a serious problem that hinders the development of the entire industry in Hong Kong.  Whilst there is clear policy from the Mainland China on the collaborative development of the Greater Bay Area as well as the implementation of east-in east-out and west-in west-out for flow control of goods vehicles, the solid response from the Hong Kong Government on how to facilitate the logistics industry to embrace these changes is yet to be materialised, especially on the provision of land for healthy development of the industry.

We note that in its Policy Address 2020, the Government announced that it would study the viability of using land in Ping Che, Ta Kwu Ling and Tuen Mun for special industries (i.e., non-housing uses).  We consider it is a right time to suggest allot part of the land in these areas for the logistics industry, such as modern logistics and port back-up industry.  We plan to provide our consolidated view and comment to the Government on this critical issue in the near future after gathering views and comments from you.

In order to ensure our view and comment can be effectively listened by the Government, we count very much on your kind support by reflecting your view and comment to us through our survey.  As a leader in the industry, your valuable view and comment on this critical issue is essential and instructive.

We would be most grateful if you can spend few minutes to access the link (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/S7M7S2G) or QR code (as appended) of our online survey to freely express your view and comment on this critical issue.  In the interest of time, we would be much appreciated if your valuable reply to our online survey can be returned to us on or before 10 October 2021.
