A Road Safety Audit design standard was launched in Hong Kong mid-2019.  The Transport Department published their first Road Safety Audit design standard as a distinct chapter in the Transport Planning Design Manual.  It marked a step change in how road safety would be enhanced in the design of new road infrastructure projects and road improvement schemes.  Local transport professionals in how to successfully implement the new requirements is an essential and urgent skills development action.
