CILTHK Luncheon Seminar: Revitalizing Legacy Warehouses: Practical Pathways from Manual to Automated Operations
CILTHK Luncheon Seminar  |  Revitalizing Legacy Warehouses: Practical Pathways from Manual to Automated Operations

Most warehouse operators in Hong Kong aren't building new facilities from scratch. They are managing working warehouses with existing layouts, manual habits, and established routines. Bringing automation into an active warehouse isn't just about picking out new systems - it's about making sure the new setup actually fits into daily operations without slowing down order fulfillment or causing friction on the warehouse floor.
• Understanding baseline: How to thoroughly review current manual workflows and layout limits first, so it don't end up with a system that looks good on paper but doesn't fit real situation.
• Making the shift in phases: How to introduce automation step-by-step through repeated testing and phased commissioning while keeping enough manual flexibility on the floor.
• Keeping daily output steady: Practical ways for warehouse leadership to manage the switch, help staff adapt to new habits through iterative dry runs, and make sure the new setup delivers genuine productivity.
