Captain the Honourable Lothair
LAM Ming-fung｜Legislative Council Member of the HKSAR
Captain the Honourable Lothair Lam Ming-fung is a Member of the Legislative Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, representing the Transport Functional Constituency. He began his maritime career as a seafarer with Wah Kwong Shipping, and in 2006, he earned his Class 1 (Deck) Certificate of Competency from the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency. He later served as the Chairman of Hong Kong Ming Wah Shipping Co., Ltd. Captain Lam is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Hong Kong (CILTHK) and actively contributes to the industry through various leadership roles. He currently holds Emeritus Chairman of the Institute of Seatransport, Committee Member of the Hong Kong Maritime and Port Board, Executive Committee Member of the Hong Kong Shipowners Association, and Vice Chairman of the Asian Shipowners’ Association’s Seafarers Committee. His professional contributions extend to serving as Secretary General of the Hong Kong Shipping Circles Association.
