In a batch of vaccines recently
provided to Hong Kong, defects were found and confirmed that this situation is
related to vaccine packaging under transportation conditions which raised
public concern.
To ensure
the safety and quality of pharmaceuticals and vaccines, and ultimately the
safety of consumers and patients, manufacturers, logistics service providers
and freight forwarders need to understand and implement a reliable distribution
system such as Good Distribution Practice (GDP) that meets WHO standards
including cold storage and cold logistic before products are delivered to
customers.
