  • 'Hong Kong Tram Trail' iPhone and Android Phone App

    Developed by HKU as one of the 100th Anniversary activities. Using global positioning system (GPS) and vehicle navigation technology, this iPhone and Android Phone App will let you use location based service (LBS) to explore the urban history of Hong Kong automatically when you are on the tram in Western District, Sheung Wan, Central, and Wanchai - the oldest urban districts where modern Hong Kong originates.

  • Road Cargo Systems (ROCARS) will be fully implemented on 17-Nov-2011

    Under the legislation, from the day of 17-Nov-2011, a shipper or a freight forwarder must provide a pre-defined set of cargo information to C&ED through ROCARS at least 30 minutes before the cargo consignment enters or exits Hong Kong by truck. The trucker is required to declare through ROCARS to C&ED not less than 30 minutes before his truck arrives at a land boundary control point (LBCP).

    Shippers, Agents, or the Driver in the industry who have not yet registered are called to register as soon as possible and immediately use the new system at the specific ports to familiar with this road clearance procedures.

  • High Value Cargo Robbery and Theft 1Q-2Q 2011

    Attached is a list of Robbery & Theft cases involving losses in excess of HK$100,000- which occurred in 1Q-2Q 2011. The overall numbers of cases slightly increased by two cases over same period 2010. The total value of goods stolen was HK$25.57M with majority of cases involved the loss of electronic parts (13 cases) and computer parts (13 cases) with one case alone yielded HK$9.7M worth of mobile phones bluetooth headsets, which after investigation three persons were arrested with recovery of all the stolen items.

  • Hong Kong Qualification Framework

    Specification of Competency Standards (SCS) Booklets for Logistics Industry

    Following the completion of the Part I SCS production for the Logistics industry, the ITAC Secretariat has published the SCS booklets for promoting the SCS adoption by trade associations, employers, employees, training providers, professional bodies and other related organisations. The booklets, containing the skills and competencies required of the industry is a handy reference for management, HR manager, employees for ready usage.
